Weed Chocolate Banana Cake

Most of us know what it's like to take a good old bong rip or sit back and chill out with a nice tailor made J. But, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the process, here's a quick synopsis.

When we smoke THC is entering our body through our lungs and therefore quick to get into our blood stream and to our brain. Effects are felt almost instantly and therefore it is much easier to control how much we need to get our desired ‘high’.

Similarly, it also wears off a lot quicker (usually within an hour) and allows us to make the choice of prolonging the effects with another hit or calling it a night.

However, when we ingest THC through edibles the THC needs to be metabolised in the liver. The process of metabolising takes time and that’s why it can take anywhere from 30 minutes up to 2 hours for us to feel the effects.

Nonetheless, when it does, it gives us a much more powerful high and will stay in our system for far longer, sometimes up to several hours.

This delayed reaction can tempt people to eat more in order to compensate for their lack of effect. BUT, be patient. Remember that it is coming and don’t overdo it. You may end up feeling far more ‘effect’ than you wished for.

Take your time and enjoy these awesome treats!

1. Grease a loaf tin and line with grease-proof paper.
2. Mix the butter and sugar together in a bowl (it’s easier if you have a handheld electric blender)
3. Add the egg and mix well again.
4. Sift the flour and baking powder together, then add it gradually to the mix.
5. Add the mashed bananas and mix well.
6. Add the chocolate buttons, mix them in.
7. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin.
8. Bake (180 C/Gas 4) for 50 minutes.
Note: You can check that the cake is cooked by putting a skewer through it. If it comes out clean, it’s done!
